MEET THE GRETTOS

Clara Haymon | College of Arts and Sciences ‘24 | Madame President | she/her

One of our resident southwestern Grettos, Clara is a senior studying Psychology in CAS and minoring in Emotional and Behavioral Challenges in Schools in Wheelock. She enjoys reading, running, and spreading herself way too thin with Grettos and her other on-campus club, Stage Troupe (come see No Exit in March). Her favorite artists currently are Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan, Hozier, and Zach Bryan. If you’re looking for someone to bring you coffee, to recommend a good coffee to try, or to encourage a caffeine addiction, Clara’s the person to find. Clara is our current President.

Renee Torio | College of Arts and Sciences ‘24 | Co-Music Director | she/her

Renee is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Psychology with minors in Vocal Performance (CFA) and Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences (SAR). She is from Holliston, MA and sings mezzo (and sometimes alto) for the group. She loves to crochet, write songs (check her out on streaming services!), and wear crocs. On campus, Renee is a Research Assistant in the Biobehavioral and Social-Emotional Development Lab, where she is currently completing an Honors Thesis. Next year, she hopes to enroll in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling grad program. She’s into all sorts of music, with Lucius, Laufey and MUNA being some of her favorite artists. Renee is our current Co-Music Director.

Luke Yanosy | College of Arts and Sciences ‘25 | Co-Music Director | he/him

Luke is one of our terrific tenors and is from Connecticut. He is a junior studying Classical Civilization in the College of Arts and Sciences with minors in Biology and Spanish. Luke is yet another one of our grettos who is a bit of a bookworm, however, he also enjoys writing and drawing. One of Luke’s favorite artists is Sara Bareilles, but recently he has been getting more into contemporary jazz artists.

Bryant Kessie | College of Fine Arts ‘25 | Performance Director | he/him

Uh oh! It’s another Jersey Gretto! Bryant is a junior studying music education in CFA. He enjoys theatre and acting (he’s incredibly talented), sneaker collecting, and photography, and his toxic trait is being a Chicago Bears fan. If you’re looking for someone to make a “your mom” joke, Bryant is your guy. On-campus, Bryant is involved in BU On Broadway, and we can’t wait to see him in his next role! His favorite artist is Anderson Paak (fun fact, they have the same birthday) and his favorite genres are rap, R&B, and soul. Bryant is our current Performance Director.

Isabella Basler | Questrom School of Business ‘25 | Business Manager | she/her

A west-coast Gretto, Isabella comes to us all the way from California. Isabella is a junior majoring in Business at Questrom. She loves puzzles, riddles, and mystery books - basically anything related to solving problems. On-campus, Isabella is involved in the BizTech Club . We are so happy to have her warm personality in the group - we especially love hearing her many stories from her time here at BU and before! Her favorite artist is Credence Clearwater Revival.

Evan Denenberg | Educational Design ‘25 | Social Media Director | they/he

Evan Denenberg is our current Social Media Director. When not in rehearsal, they can be found doing yoga, watching movies, or changing their pronouns on a whim. Evan is originally from the suburbs of Chicago, where he went to the same high school as John Hughes! Evan is studying to be an Educational Designer, which probably means working in Education Technology (ask him again in a month, though). They love listening to Indie Pop.

Emre Yalcindag | College of Arts and Sciences ‘24 | he/him

One of our Massachusetts natives, Emre is a junior in CAS studying Biology. Outside of Grettos, Emre enjoys playing video games, reading, watching horror movies, and snowboarding. Emre is known for his chill vibes and his amazing cloud sweater, and we don’t know what we would do without him (even if he may often be late, even when you’re meeting right outside of his dorm). While he may sometimes be late or distracted by his fellow baris in rehearsal, his energy is unmatched; there’s never a dull moment when he’s around. His favorite artists are the Black Keys and Nothing But Thieves, and his favorite music genre is rock.

Zeya Wu | College of General Studies ‘24 | he/him

Coming to Grettos all the way from China, Zeya is a senior in CGS studying Psychology. Zeya enjoys exploring/reviewing Indie games on Steam, electronic music production, live Loopstation performances, plastic modeling, manga collection, and staying active in the modern beatboxing scene (which just so happens to be his biggest passion, which makes sense as he’s such a talented beatboxer himself). On-campus, he is also involved in the BU Gaming Club, the Anime club, CSSA, and TOSA. Zeya’s favorite artists are Rezz, Snail’s House, and Carpenter Brut with his favorite genres being Synthwave, Progressive House, Melodic Dubstep, and Glitch Hop.

Loulou Ojjeh | College of Arts and Sciences ‘24 | she/her

Originally from Switzerland, Loulou is a senior studying Biology with a minor in Earth and Environment. Loulou loves conservation, biodiversity, scuba diving, snorkelling, wakesurving, lifting, yoga, and pilates. Her favorite movies are The Rock of Ages and Good Will Hunting, and her favorite artists are Hozier, Sam Smith, Mt. Joy, Carlita, and Monkey Safari. She sings alto and tenor for the grettos.

Kathryn Jordan| Questrom ‘27 | she/her

Kathryn is one of our new members, coming from Texas. She is a business major at Questrom, and loves being in a cappella! While she’s not officially on our e-board, she serves as Senior Intern to the Social Media Director and Assistant to the Performance Director — and does an amazing job at both!

Ocean Bruinius | College of Communications ‘27 | she/her

Ocean is from Sarasota, FL majoring in Film & Television in COM with a minor in Music and English. Outside of acapella, Ocean is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha, a national professional film fraternity, works at the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and volunteers with the Community Service Center here at Boston University. Ocean loves all aspects of storytelling, whether that be through music, writing, or film. Above all else she loves spending quality time with quality people, which is why she loves being a Gretto!

Joe Chung | College of Arts and Sciences ‘25 | he/him

This is Joe Chung! He’s currently a Junior studying Human Physiology. Some things you should know about him are that he’s from NY, he loves indie rock/pop, and he still doesn’t know the order of the months.

Lauren Mahoney | College of Fine Arts ‘27 | she/her
